Responsibilities:
Member Services
- Collect, organize and analyze membership data
- Manage dues calculation and collection. Work closely with Finance & Administration on membership dues invoicing and tracking
- Produce internal reports that identify membership trends and make targeted recommendations
- Assist team in outreach and information dissemination and serve as a contact between InterAction and member organizations regarding membership issues
- Support communications with and between members
- Draft, edit and distribute correspondence with member staff and leadership
- Assist the Vice President of Membership & Standards and Program Manager in executing overall membership strategy, including growth, compliance with Standards etc.
- Develop and maintain tools to provide analysis of current and prospective members as well as the broader NGO sector
Event Planning
- Assist in venue selection, contracting, budget and execution of Annual Forum, CEO Retreat and Regional Meetings
- Drive planning process, development and execution of workshop sessions and general program for the annual Forum
- Coordinate logistics (meeting space, Food & Beverage and Audio/Visual) for the Forum and the CEO Retreat
- Work closely with Vice President of Membership & Standards to develop and maintain an effective reporting system for events and functions, including budget planning, demographics, forecasting and analysis
- Assist in developing the content of event materials including: print materials, web content and smart phone applications
External Relations
- Provide information to the public about InterAction and its members
- In cooperation with the Membership & Standards Team, conduct presentations on InterAction and its services
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors (hotels, airlines, etc.) on behalf of InterAction and its members
Other
- Develop visual aids (Power Point presentations, etc.) for Board- and CEO-level meetings
- Coordinate the internship program for the Membership & Standards team
- Participate in various internal committees and processes, such as Strategy Teams, the Data Task Force and the Human Resources Committee
- Other duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or higher and 3 years of professional experience in a related field (Non-profit management, Business Administration). Association Management preferred.
- Proven knowledge and experience in large-scale event planning and production
- Prior experience working with a database (SalesForce experience preferred)
- Excellent speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills including strong office/clerical skills and experience
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced skills with MS Excel and Access preferred)
- Ability to interface with senior level staff and other senior level partners

Basic Functions: The Manager/Coordinator of Resource Development oversees fundraising, grants management, and grants monitoring and evaluation for InterAction. S/he convenes and works with staff across the organization as needed. S/he reports directly to the President and CEO and works closely with the Executive Office and the senior leadership in drafting proposals and responding to donor reporting requirements. The position will be filled at either the coordinator or manger level depending upon the experience and qualifications of the individual finally selected. Support by interns is generally available throughout the year.
Responsibilities:
I. Resource Development and Institutional Advancement —
- Assist the President and Executive Team in preparing an annual fundraising strategy and action plan with both short- and long-term goals.
- Understand InterAction’s mission and goals to effectively research, monitor and identify potential sources of funding for InterAction's core budget and projects that advance operational plan objectives.
- Work with teams, consultants, and the Vice Presidents or Project Directors to draft, or as needed assist in the drafting, of grant proposals for U.S. foundations and other donors (e.g., US government agencies).
- Manage final proposal production and submission.
II. Grants Management —
- Develop and maintain grant files and a grants database of all grants. Prepare a brief description of grants (goals, objectives, and major activities) for all IA and relevant member staff.
- Track, and send reminders on, all donor-related deadlines.
- Work with the Project Manager for each grant to ensure that all reports for donors are drafted and submitted on time. Prepare templates that will enable staff to contribute to reports easily and in accordance with the funders' requirements. Coordinate with the Finance Team on preparation of all grant financial reports.
- Manage final narrative and financial report production and submission.
III. Grants Monitoring and Evaluation
- Manage and improve where possible the process for monitoring, gathering evaluation data and producing evaluative reports for InterAction grants.
- During proposal development, work with staff teams to develop logic models and evaluation tables for all proposals.
- During project implementation, work with grant teams to monitor and evaluate projects in accordance with the grant agreement.
- Draft the monitoring and evaluation sections of grant reports.
Qualifications:
A masters degree, or the equivalent, in a field of study directly related to international development. At least five- year experience with development-related strategy, research, project development, project implementation, project monitoring, and/or fundraising required. Experience working with international development and/or humanitarian response organizations is highly desirable. Excellent written and oral communications skills are essential. Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, multi-task, set priorities, adapt to change, and solve problems in a dynamic, high-performing work environment. We seek a self-starter and team player with an energetic, entrepreneurial attitude. Highly adept in using Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
