InterAction and its members are committed to demonstrating and enhancing NGO accountability and impact in development and humanitarian action. To this end, InterAction's work on accountability, evaluation and learning spans across the organization and aims to maximize the effectiveness of development and humanitarian interventions.
Accountability
InterAction works to improve donor and NGO accountability through our work on:
- Aid and Development Effectiveness
- PVO Standards
- Monitoring & Evaluation
- Open Forum for CSO Development Effectiveness
Evaluation
InterAction supports members' monitoring and evaluation (M&E) work through the Evaluation and Program Effectiveness Working Group, which aims to build capacity of NGOs to demonstrate greater effectiveness, with a particular focus on impact and advocacy evaluation. By gathering and disseminating evidence on what does and does not work, this group contributes to communications and advocacy initiatives to influence the U.S. and global aid effectiveness discourse.
Learning
With support from the International Fund for Agricultural Development, InterAction has launched its Best Practices & Innovations (BPI) initiative, the first phase of which will focus on agriculture and rural livelihoods. The purpose of the BPI initiative is to promote information sharing on effective program approaches, and to improve practice standards by boosting the efficiency and impacts of field programs.
