Locating and Contacting Your Member of Congress

Before you attempt to contact Congress, you need to determine who your Senators and Representative are. There are two Senators per state. You can either go to the U.S. Senate Directory or visit www.visi.com/juan/congress and click on your state.

In order to find your Representative, you will need to know your zip code. Go to Write Your Representative. Then select your state and type in your zip code. You then have the option of typing in your message directly or being linked to your Member's website. You may also link to a Representative's website through the U.S. House of Representatives Directory.

If you prefer the telephone, you may call the Capitol Hill main switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected to Senator (full name) or Congressman (full name). Or, you may call InterAction at (202) 667-8227. We will be happy to tell you who is your Representative and provide you with background information.
