At a House Foreign Affairs subcommittee hearing on Nov. 18, 2009, InterAction President and CEO Samuel A. Worthington addressed the role that the branding of U.S. foreign assistance plays in the war on terror, and described the situations in which exemptions to USAID’s branding policy are crucial in allowing U.S. NGOs to carry out their missions safely. Subcommittee members also heard from representatives of the Center for a New American Security, the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and Terror Free Tomorrow: The Center for Public Opinion.
