InterAction members speak at CGI

Leaders from several InterAction member NGOs are among the world, business and civil society leaders convening this week at the 2012 Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) themed “Designing for Impact.

The International Center for Research on Women, PATH, Save the Children, Women for Women International, and the World Wildlife Fund are on the Sept. 23-25 agenda in New York City. Other attendees include Malawi President Joyce Banda, CNN host Fareed Zakaria, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan. 

Established in 2005 by President Bill Clinton, CGI has resulted in more than 2,100 “commitments to action” in more than 180 countries totaling $69.2 billion.

InterAction member events include:

  • Sept. 23: Steve Davis, President and CEO of PATH, “Designing for Consumers at the Base of the Pyramid”
  • Sept. 24 from 12-1 pm: Carolyn S. Miles, President and CEO of Save the Children, “The Early Years: An Irresistible Investment Opportunity"  
  • Sept. 25 from 9-10 am: Jason Clay, Senior Vice President, Market Transformation, World Wildlife Fund, "The Future of Food” 
  • Sept. 25 from 1:30-3 pm: Afshan Khan, CEO of Women for Women International, and Sarah Degnan Kambou, president of International Center for Research on Women, “Uncovering the Multiplier Effect of Investing in Women”
