Take the Global Health Initiative Survey for Development Practitioners
InterAction is calling on CSO and NGO development practitioners to participate in a survey about the Global Health Initiative (GHI). The GHI aims to increase the impact and sustainability of U.S. government global health efforts by helping partner countries strengthen their health systems. The GHI is driven by core principles that focus on gender equality; increasing impact through strategic coordination and integration; investing in country ownership; building sustainability; and promoting research and innovation.
While the GHI encompasses all U.S. global health programs, eight countries were selected as “GHI Plus” countries, which would receive additional technical and management resources to more quickly implement the GHI’s approach. These countries are Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Nepal and Rwanda.
InterAction’s Integrating Health in Relief and Development working group is surveying member organizations working in the GHI Plus countries to identify how the in-country consultation process has been implemented to date from the perspective of NGOs. This information can make an important contribution to understanding how operational agencies and civil society have been engaged in the roll out of the GHI at the country level.
The survey is open until June 3, 2011 and should take no more than 10 minutes of your time. Results from the survey will be shared with InterAction members, GHI officials and at a GHI-focused workshop at the InterAction Forum held in August.
For a paper copy of the survey, or if you have any questions please contact Danielle Heiberg, at dheiberg@interaction.org.
