UN Panel Releases Key Report on Post-2015 Agenda
The UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda released its report, “A New Global Partnership: Eradicate Poverty and Transform Economies Through Sustainable Development,” to the UN General Assembly on Thursday.
The report outlined what the new international development agenda for the next two decades should be when the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) expire in 2015. At the center of the new agenda is the vision to eradicate extreme poverty by 2030.
InterAction welcomed the panel’s report and urged the U.S. government to build on its momentum. During this process it is critical for civil society voices to be heard.
UN, government, and NGO representatives will come together Friday from 10 a.m. to noon for a discussion on the High Level Panel’s report on the post-2015 agenda, which can be viewed live via webcast.
