UN votes to end security operations in Libya

The unanimous measure, which takes effect Monday, will end NATO military engagement in Libya. The leader of Libya’s interim government requested that NATO operations continue through the end of the year. However, the UN Security Council has concerns that further action would encroach on Libya’s sovereignty.

Several wounded Libyan fighters will be in the U.S. and Germany shortly for medical treatment as a humanitarian gesture.

Meanwhile, members of the late deposed leader, Col. Muammar Gaddafi, plan to file a complaint with the International Criminal Court, alleging that the circumstances around Gaddafi’s death are war crimes.
