Young Professionals Organize Professional Development Events

InterAction is rolling out a series of events for young professionals interested in NGO careers.

These professional development events are not exclusive to InterAction member organizations – they are open to any interested participants. They are also free of charge.

These events are an initial response to the needs of the young professional community that were identified during InterAction’s annual Forum this year. The goal is to provide opportunities for inexpensive professional development that is convenient and accessible to any interested participants.

Young Professional Roundtable: Navigating Your Career
July 10, 12:00-1:00 p.m.

During the 2013 InterAction Forum, nearly 100 young professionals from throughout the InterAction community gathered to engage with sector leadership and to learn from each other. The participants, in the first annual Young Professional’s Summit of the Forum, were introduced to cutting-edge innovations in the sector and interacted with NGO CEOs. The closing session of the day was a collaborative conversation among young professionals. The group discussed issues, shared stories and started to chart a path forward for young professionals in the international development and humanitarian assistance space.

If you have suggestions for future events, or wish to be more engaged in the development of a formal young professional network, please contact Laura Brogan at lbrogan@interaction.org or Caitlin Carr at ccarr@interaction.org.
