American Refugee Committee International's Response to Crisis in Ivory Coast and Liberia

Operational Summary: 

The American Refugee Committee has worked in Liberia since 2003 and been present in the border region near Cote d’Ivoire since the beginning of the latest crisis. ARC is currently responding to humanitarian needs by reducing the physical vulnerability of Ivoirian refugees in Liberia and host families through the provision of emergency shelter assistance and protection.  ARC is working in 9 of the 15 relocation communities in Nimba County to provide shelters to refugees. ARC is providing community structures in each relocation community.  ARC is also closely monitoring the worsening situation in Cote d’Ivoire to determine an appropriate response.
