Friends of ACTED's Response to Horn Of Africa Drought Crisis
Operational Summary:
The Horn of Africa faced one of the worst droughts in decades. For 6 years, ACTED has been mobilized to support the remote rural and pastoral communities that struggle in times of relentless drought. From Uganda to Southern Somalia, through Kenya, our teams are operating every day to ensure access the potable water and sanitation, in order to improve the vulnerable populations’ food security, while rebuilding and developing new livelihoods. Nine months after the height of the crisis, ACTED teams remain committed to support the recovery of drought affected people and to develop coping mechanism to face future droughts.
