Global Communities's Response to Horn Of Africa Drought Crisis

CHF is implementing drought response programs in Kenya and Ethiopia. In Kenya, our emergency program provides critical agricultural support and enhances market access and purchasing power for vulnerable households in Kenya's Eastern Province. The program integrates emergency cash assistance with agricultural inputs and training to assure household access to food and to secure basic livelihoods patterns. In Ethiopia, CHF works in the Somali Region responding to emergency needs created through endemic and persistent shocks. The program activities focus on early recovery in order to diversify livelihoods, increase household risk resilience and increase water supply for vulnerable pastoral dropout and agropastoral communities.
