International Relief and Development's Response to Crisis in Ivory Coast and Liberia
Operational Summary:
IRD is currently working in Liberia under a McGovern-Dole Food for Education project in the Monrovia area. To respond to the Côte d'Ivoire refugee crisis, IRD has assessed Nimba County and has identified gaps in regional infrastructure. IRD is jointly developing a World Food Programme Food-for-Work program to address the rehabilitation of bridges, which would facilitate the shipment of food and NFI's to refugee and host communities in the affected regions.
