International Rescue Committee's Response to Crisis in Ivory Coast and Liberia
The International Rescue Committee is delivering emergency aid to tens of thousands of displaced and violence-impacted Ivorians. In western districts of Ivory Coast, IRC teams are installing latrines, water taps and showers at displacement sites, aiding victims of sexual violence, running educational and recreational programs for children and tracing and reuniting separated families. In Liberia’s Nimba County, the IRC's two mobile medical teams are treating hundreds of newly arrived refugees daily. We are also overseeing medical screenings and vaccinations at the main transit camp, arranging special aid for vulnerable refugees and carrying out a range of programs for refugee children.
