Operation USA's Response to Horn Of Africa Drought Crisis
Operational Summary:
Since initially responding to the crisis, Operation USA has purchased 1M water purification tabs for both individuals/families in Kenya as well as community water storage reservoirs. These items were distributed through Africa Humanitarian Action and its local partners. A grant was given to Oxfam America for purchase locally in Ethiopia of 500,000+ water purification chemicals for distribution in southern Ethiopia to drought victims. Operation USA has also collected medical supplies for eventual clinical/hospital use in Dadaab camps via Africa Humanitarian Action.
