United Methodist Committee on Relief's Response to Crisis in Ivory Coast and Liberia

UMCOR is supporting partner ACT Alliance in providing urgent assistance to refugees in Liberia who have fled Cote d’Ivoire due to the ongoing political conflict and violence.  The funding will support road repair in Nimba County to transport goods to refugees and to access supplies; improve access to clean water, expand capacity of existing health services to refugees, provide psychosocial support to those affected by the crisis, as well as food distribution and livelihood support. UMCOR is also assisting The United Methodist Church in Cote d’Ivoire in bringing relief to displaced people in Abidjan, and providing food assistance for school children enrolled in kindergarten schools in 11 locations.
