Operational Summary:
The American Red Cross is concerned those hit by the recent earthquakes in Indonesia, and has made $100,000 available for response. We are monitoring the response of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and will be providing assistance as needs are identified. PMI is well placed to respond, with stocks of relief supplies and equipment, and extensive experience among staff and volunteers in responding to earthquakes. PMI has mobilized over 270 volunteers with 96 disaster response teams and medical action teams to evacuate people, provide food, water, first aid and relief supplies. American Red Cross will either mobilize supplies, send specialists or provide funds as needed.
