CARE Emergency staff have deployed to Padang and have formed part of a joint assessment team with other aid organizations, UN agencies and government departments. CARE UK has also organised a shelter expert to be on a charter flight direct to Padang. CARE Canada is deploying a team leader to Jakarta who is also leaving within the next 48 hours. CARE Indonesia is currently confirming what emergency supplies such as tents, tarps and water purification supplies are available. Once we know the needs on the ground we can distribute this material very quickly. CARE Indonesia staff have extensive experience in handling disasters, and are experts in Emergency areas such as water and sanitation and distribution.
