Medical Teams International is responding to this refugee crisis through its local office in Uzbekistan. Initial response includes needs assessments, provision of medical care and food and shipments of 4 Interagency Emergency Health Kits with enough medicines and supplies for approximately 40,000 refugees for 3 months. Our staff in Uzbekistan will work in close partnership with the Uzbek Ministry of Health to bring in additional emergency medical aid, emergency medical services training, food stock and improved sanitation access.
