UMCOR and the General Board of Global Ministries are working through relief and church partners in Japan to respond to and provide immediate assistance. These partners include GlobalMedic, the United Church of Christ in Japan, the National Christian Council in Japan, and others. The immediate response includes meeting the most basic humanitarian needs in northern Japan such as providing clean drinking water, basic food, basic cooking and eating supplies, clothing, and fuel for heating.
