CBRN
Working Group Charter
Purpose
The partnership will provide a network for public, private, and NGO and
individuals to share information and establish working relationships with
others involved in prevention, mitigation and response to CBRN disasters.
Goal
Identify prevention and mitigation strategies to reduce vulnerabilities
to CBRN hazards and build NGO's capacity to provide humanitarian services
outside the "hot-zone" of CBRN disasters in a coordinated manner.
Participation
Participation of this working group may include U.S. government agencies,
NGOs, or private sector organizations.
Strategic Issues
The partnership will achieve its goals by undertaking the following tasks:
- Identify current and
potential CBRN hazards which may require foreign disaster responses.
- Identify the necessary
knowledge and skills NGOs require to respond to the humanitarian needs
of those displaced by disasters provoked by or otherwise involving
CBRN hazards.
- Identify training resources
to increase the capacity of NGOs to respond to humanitarian needs
of those displaced by disasters provoked by or otherwise involving
CBRN hazards.
- Identify roles and capacities
of partner organizations in CBRN prevention and mitigation.
- Facilitate the training
of partner organizations in CBRN prevention and mitigation.
- Develop mechanisms to
ensure adequate dissemination of information among stakeholders.
