InterAction's G8/G20 Task Force applauds the work of the G20 leaders to enhance financial inclusion by increasing access to financial services by low-income people. Improving the range and quality of financial services available to previously excluded individuals strengthens their ability to secure and increase their financial assets.


Recommendation summary


1. Promote access to a full suite of financial services that includes savings, credit, insurance and payments.


2. Strengthen the quality of financial inclusion measures.


3. Ensure that policy frameworks allow for the smooth transition of informal financial service groups to access formal services.


4. Coordinate a client protection task force within the new Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion.
