4:53pm: A 7.0 earthquake hits Haiti. 17 minutes later International Medical Corps is preparing our Emergency Response Team. Within 5 hours, medical volunteers are deploying. 22 hours after the earthquake, we are saving lives on the ground in Port-au-Prince, working side-by-side with our Haitian medical counterparts. During our initial response efforts we brought in as many essential medicines and supplies as we could carry and were able to treat patients immediately. In the days that followed, International Medical Corps quickly established a logistics base in the Dominican Republic and implemented a supply chain to successfully deliver additional basic supplies. To date, we have distributed more than $9 million in donated medicines, supplies and equipment through the generosity of our gift-in-kind partners, including:
