More than 280 organizations in the international nonprofit, government, corporate and philanthropic sectors were represented at InterAction Forum 2011, held August 10-12 at the Washington Convention Center.
InterAction's 27th annual Forum featured thought-provoking plenary and workshop sessions on a wide variety of topics, including: the shifting working environment for NGOs, the U.S. government and the United Nations; how failing states can evolve into stable nations; advancing women's rights and business; how to stretch your communications budget; NGO accountability and transparency; proving the benefit of disaster risk reduction programs; and the federal budget process.
Over 1,000 professionals attended and heard keynote speeches from UN Under-Secretary-General Valerie Amos, USAID Deputy Administrator Donald Steinberg, the National Security Council's Gayle Smith, and Grameen Bank Founder Muhammad Yunus.
