Dear Colleagues and Friends,
I am delighted to invite you to join us in Washington D.C. for our 2008 Annual Forum New Visions for Ending Poverty.
The last decade has seen a proliferation of new actors within the realm of international development. Some expected, some not. This year’s event will act as a catalyst for improved and increased collaboration among nonprofits, corporations, governments, foundations and others who have made eradicating global poverty and responding to the myriad of challenges facing the developing world, from climate change to human security, a priority.
The changing global landscape and new support for development in the U.S. provides international non-profits with many opportunities to move beyond the debate around effective assistance to the different approaches for providing development assistance to the world’s poorest people. After decades of providing food, shelter, healthcare, and hope, to those in need, our community has been joined by many new actors most of whom are committed to ending the viscous cycle of abject poverty. This is both exciting and a challenge!
There will be multiple opportunities to network with over 800 leaders from the nonprofit community, corporations, think tanks, universities, US government, foundations and our European and Southern colleagues.
We have an engaging lineup of thought-provoking sessions, interactive workshops, prominent keynote speakers and many new conference features.
Take advantage of the early bird registration rate by sending in your registration before March 31!
I look forward to seeing you in May.
