President Obama's New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition

Ahead of the G8, President Barack Obama presented a food security partnership, The New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition, which aims to lifting 50 million people out of poverty in the next 10 years. The New Alliance will bring together governments and the private sector in order to tackle the challenge of global hunger and malnutrition.  Yet, for this partnership to really help the world’s poorest, civil society will need to be included. 

Save the Children Report on State of the World’s Mothers

InterAction member Save the Children released their 13th annual State of the World’s Mothers Report, listing the best and worst places to be a mother in the world. The report examines the well-being of mothers and children in 165 countries, analyzing factors such as the mother’s health, education and economic status, along with child mortality rates.

5th Birthday Campaign Seeks to Reduce Child Deaths

The U.S. Agency for International Development and numerous partners, including InterAction member organizations, launched the “Every Child Deserves a 5th Birthday” campaign on Monday.
