Call for Examples: Results-Based Protection

InterAction is seeking examples of tools, resources and other materials that have been used in protection programming to demonstrate measurable change and true impact. This call for examples is part of a new project, launched by InterAction's Protection Working Group, to develop and promote good practice for results-based approaches within protection.

While results-based approaches exist within the humanitarian community, examples of good practice within the field of protection are limited and scattered. The humanitarian community increasingly recognizes the need to enhance and demonstrate impact through protection programming to achieve change in people’s lives - change that includes reduced risks of violence, coercion, exploitation and deprivation.

Here are examples of the types of materials sought:
  • Logframes
  • Assessment, diagnostic and analytical models and tools
  • Guidebooks, handouts, tip sheets for field practitioners
  • Advocacy strategies, including impact measurement
  • Reports, reviews, summaries of protection programming demonstrating success, change, lessons learned, and/or supporting evidence
Examples will be sorted and analyzed to identify trends, key elements and gaps related to results-based approaches within the protection field. They will also be used to help frame discussion and further analysis in a Practitioners’ Roundtable event at the beginning of 2013.

The deadline for the first round of submissions is Nov. 23. To submit examples, please complete this form and send to Jessica Lenz, Senior Program Manager-Protection, at jlenz@interaction.org.
