Mercy-USA For Aid & Development's Response to Syria Crisis

Operational Summary: 

Since June 2011, Mercy-USA has been assisting Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Turkey. In Lebanon, Mercy-USA runs a daily bread distribution to 1,500 families along with a mobile health clinic that runs four days a week (services include vaccines, pre- and post-natal, and regular medical check-ups). We have distributed 800 winter jackets, 500 mattresses, 500 floor mats, 750 blankets, and over 900 food and hygiene packs to about 450 families. In Turkey, over 2,000 food packs have been distributed to refugee families. Additionally, 1,000 fresh chickens, 500 mats, 500 mattresses, 12,000 food cans and 44,000 pounds of fresh fruits were provided to nearly 500 other families. Since October 2012, we have provided 1,320 lbs of fresh meat, 8,500 blankets, 1,000 tarpaulins, 12,000 cans of baby milk and 352,000 lbs of flour to over 3,000 IDP families within Syria.
