CARE's Response to Syria Crisis

Operational Summary:

As of spring 2013, CARE helped over 110,000 Syrian refugees in Jordan and is expanding its refugee work in Lebanon. CARE continues to provide cash for essentials to Syrian families and host communities in Amman, with particular attention to female-headed households, which make up about 48% of the beneficiaries. Earlier in 2013, CARE distributed clothing, blankets, mattresses and heaters to Syrian families who fled to Jordan. CARE also gave basic relief items such as blankets, bedsheets, food and children’s clothing to poor Jordanian families who are hosting refugees.
