Weaving Gender in Disaster and Refugee Assistance

The comprehensive report and field checklists compile lessons learned from two 1998 InterAction Forum seminars, co-sponsored by InterAction’s CAW, the Committee on Migration and Refugee Affairs, and Disaster Response and Resources. The report includes an array of perspectives from the InterAction community, NGOs, donors, and refugees and presents specific strategies for enabling both women and men to be full participants and beneficiaries in humanitarian and refugee assistance and includes a set of checklists that participants recommended as part of an effective strategy for gender sensitive programming in complex emergencies.
