Kari facilitates policy advocacy on issues related to refugees and/or internally displaced persons, emergency response, post-conflict reconstruction, recovery, partner vetting systems, civil-military relations and humanitarian aid reform. At InterAction, Kari coordinates the advocacy messaging and strategy of relevant humanitarian working groups and helps build and maintain relationships with key Congressional and administration staff on humanitarian issues. 

 

Prior to joining InterAction, Kari served as a Legislative Assistant on Capitol Hill for 5 years covering human rights, foreign affairs and democracy promotion and governance among other issues. Kari has also worked in the monitoring and evaluation unit of an NGO in New Delhi India that provides assistance to victims of trafficking and has worked as a consultant for the Indian Ministry of Rural Development. Kari holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Minnesota and a MPA from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
