Luisa Cordoba
As Manager of the InterAction Business Council (IBC), Luisa facilitates InterAction's and our members' development of partnerships with the private sector. The IBC strategy centers on information sharing across sectors to strengthen partnerships that share an agenda and leverage each organization’s respective strengths for maximum impact in the communities where NGOs and select corporations work and serve. Luisa runs the Private Sector Working Group, a platform for information sharing focused on promoting our members’ strengths as development and relief partners, and also a safe space for dialogue with key private sector actors.
As part of the Executive Office, she also collaborates in the design and incubation of special initiatives, such as the Private Development Cooperation (PDC) initiative currently underway.
Luisa joined InterAction in 2007 as a Program Associate in the Executive Office. In 2009, she was appointed Coordinator for Resource Development, and in 2011 became Manager for Resource Development. Luisa generated development opportunities and managed a diverse private foundations grant portfolio that leveraged InterAction’s membership investment in development and humanitarian policy, practice and partnership objectives.
Prior to InterAction, Luisa served as a Program Director at The Performance Institute, a research and consulting firm in Northern Virginia specialized in designing performance-based budgets and contracts mainly for government agencies and U.S. nonprofit organizations. She also managed a training program for Madres Comunitarias (Community Mothers) - a national government childcare initiative at the Ministerio de Bienestar Familiar (Family Wellness) - at the Fundación Social, a social enterprise-focused century-old private foundation in Bogotá, Colombia.
Luisa was born in Bogotá, where she received her BA in Business Administration from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. In 2006 she earned her Master’s Degree on International and Public Affairs from the School of International Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University, New York.
