Julie F. Montgomery is the Director for Innovation and Learning at InterAction. She is currently leading InterAction’s mapping efforts, including NGO Aid Map. During her tenure at InterAction, she has worked on numerous gender mainstreaming initiatives, including the development of an E-learning course on gender and humanitarian emergencies. She also worked as editor of Monday Developments, publications manager, and graphic designer the organization. She specializes in gender issues, graphic design, publication management, communications, training, and online learning. Ms. Montgomery holds an MA in sociology from the University of Florida.

Global food prices are at their highest level in several years, with the World Bank saying last month that another 44 million people joined the ranks of those living in extreme poverty in low and middle-income countries since June of last year.
