Action Against Hunger's Response to Horn Of Africa Drought Crisis

Operational Summary:

Since the Horn of Africa Crisis began, Action Against Hunger has assisted 850,000+ people across Somalia, Djibouti, Ethiopia and Kenya. Despite the late arrival of rains and the UN’s declaration that Somalia is now free of famine, malnutrition rates remain high and millions still need help across the region. Action Against Hunger continues to help hundreds of thousands of people by providing therapeutic treatment for acutely malnourished children, nutritional support for children under five, emergency access to food, clean water, and improved sanitation, and longer-term programs—like cash-based interventions and income generating activities—that enhance livelihoods, bolster productivity, and reinforce resiliency among the most vulnerable.
