Operational Summary:

In response to Hurricane Matthew in Haiti, the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation, which has been long active in the country since before the earthquake in 2010, will activate its emergency response and early recovery protocols. BTCF will implement Food and Non-Food Items distributions, including mosquito nets, cash cards, shelter/tent materials, beds, blankets, hygiene and emergency medical materials; as well as implementing medical outreaches and long term recovery and resilience operations as the initial emergency response period transitions to mid to long term recovery and response. Tzu Chi, which has three schools, including one all girls school, in Haiti, as well as other education and community programs in Port-au-Prince, Cap Haitian, and other locations in the country, will continue its programs and increase capacity for recovery, resilience and risk reduction.
