International Medical Corps's Response to Horn Of Africa Drought Crisis

Operational Summary: 

International Medical Corps’ teams in Somalia, Ethiopia, and Kenya have provided malnutrition treatment to 40,547 children under 5, provided food rations to 91,050 children under 5 and to pregnant and lactating women, supported 350 health centers, and trained 2,355 CHWs in malnutrition. IMC has also constructed 932 latrines, provided hygiene promotion to 12,134 people, including distributing 26,551 soap bars and 6,301 new jerry cans and providing improved sanitation access to 66,665. Psychosocial support & counseling has been provided to GBV survivors and has reached a total 19,950 with GBV messages through awareness raising, edutainment, and tea-talk session, and provided refresher and initial training for 55 social workers.
