Lutheran World Relief's Response to Horn Of Africa Drought Crisis

Operational Summary: 

In Kenya, LWR is working with local partners to help 2,500 farmers earn immediate income while making long-term improvements to their farms, soil, water systems and other infrastructure. LWR also has ongoing projects in Dadaab to provide water, baby care items and psycho-social support to refugees. In Ethiopia, LWR and its partners are working to distribute food, including grains, wheat, cooking oil, beans and supplementary food for new mothers and young children. More than 65,000 people are targeted for this response. Finally, LWR is working to provide Personal Care Kits to refugees as part of a larger WASH training program in the Dollo Ado camps.
