Salvation Army World Service Office's Response to The Ebola Crisis

Operational Summary:

The Salvation Army is supporting communities in West Africa who are fighting against the devastating outbreak of the Ebola virus disease. For example, The Salvation Army in Liberia has been providing food, household items, protective equipment, and hygiene items to people affected by the Ebola virus in local communities, treatment centers, and those in quarantine.  The Salvation Army is also assisting those affected by the disease in Sierra Leone and supporting prevention and preparation efforts in Ghana. Present in West Africa since 1920, The Salvation Army will support these communities in their long term recovery.

While we are currently not providing first line medical treatment, The Salvation Army is increasing prevention awareness and offering psychosocial and spiritual care and support.
