US Fund for UNICEF's Response to Ebola Crisis

Operational Summary: 

The U.S. Fund for UNICEF supports UNICEF’s efforts to halt the spread of Ebola and to support communities affected by the virus.

UNICEF is the focal agency for public education and information efforts in the affected countries, working directly with governments, community and religious leaders, health workers, youth organizations, and others to fight widespread misconceptions about the disease and improve hygiene practices.  UNICEF is providing water and sanitation services to the affected communities, including tons of equipment and supplies, as well as appropriate training for health and medical partners.  In addition, UNICEF’s response includes health, nutrition, education, protection, and mental health and psychosocial support.
