2014 G20 Jobs and Employment Recommendations
In order to promote domestic resource mobilization, the G8/G20 Advocacy Alliance -- with 50 NGO, union and think tank members -- urges the G20 to implement the following job and employment recommendations at the Brisbane Summit.
- G20 countries should launch comprehensive macroeconomic strategies to reduce unemployment including youth unemployment.
- G20 nations should establish and implement labor market policies that ensure inclusive job creation tailored to vulneratble groups, including youth, women, elderly, and disabled.
- G20 members should set decent wage levels, promote fair and effective tax and benefit systems, and agree to establish a global social protection floor.
- The G20 should continue the joint Labor and Finance Ministers meetings, which were initiated in Moscow in July 2013.
