Evaluative Thinking: Managing Change

CRS’ work on evaluative thinking is nascent yet aligns well with the agency’s guiding principles. Our hunch is that the growing discourse on complexity in development provides an opportunity for all individuals engaged in development programming to view themselves not merely as “aid deliverers” but more valuably as “reflective practitioners” supporting longer-term sustainability and responsible innovation. This presentation by Guy Sharrock of Catholic Relief Services touches briefly on the wider context as a backdrop to this work; how CRS understands the notion of evaluative thinking and a brief mention of some of the work CRS is doing. This presentation was made during the second webinar in a learning and knowledge management webinar series. The webinar took place on June 10, 2015.
