AmericasRelief Team

AmericasRelief Team (ART) operates as an initiative of Outreach Aid to the Americas, Inc. (OAA).  Its mission is to provide humanitarian logistics assistance and educational programs for disaster victims in the Americas and develop sustainable programs that establish long-term benefits for those in need.

ART focuses on the following three programmatic areas:

1)      Disaster Preparedness, by conducting disaster prevention programs in urban centers, and ports in Latin America;

2)      Disaster Response and Aid, by collaborating with partners to stage and deliver humanitarian aid after a crisis occurs; and

3)      Humanitarian Assistance to alleviate human suffering in the Americas.

To proactively prepare communities to address future critical events, ART provides planning and strategy development and training along with the tools and resources needed to increase local preparedness and self-sufficiency. When disasters strike, ART provides humanitarian logistics assistance to benefit disaster victims and reduce the suffering of the most vulnerable people by coordinating effective and efficient humanitarian relief.

ART is accomplishing its mission by creating and cultivating strategic agreements with key non-profit and corporate partners, forging effective working relationships with U.S. and foreign government agencies, bilateral and international donor organizations, international finance organizations, faith-based organizations, advocacy groups, international and local NGOs, and U.S. corporations. ART works in coordination with affected governments, the US Southern Command, emergency centers, corporate donors, air and sea cargo carriers, national disaster management agencies, the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), non-governmental experts, and others to assess damage and effectively channel emergency relief to the most critical areas.

The mission of Outreach Aid to the Americas, Inc. (OAA) is to foster the dignity and quality of life of vulnerable people in the Americas. OAA seeks to respond to the needs of individuals, families, and communities through providing aid, strengthening civil society, and supporting positive efforts toward increasing basic freedoms and democracy.

OAA’s main programmatic focus encompasses three key areas:

1)      Relief, by providing humanitarian logistics assistance and educational programs;

2)      Development, by providing free-market assistance; and

3)      Advocacy, by promoting principles of civil society and helping citizens advocate for human rights and basic freedoms.
