InterAction is an alliance organization in Washington, D.C. of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs). Our 180-plus members work around the world. What unites us is a commitment to working with the world's poor and vulnerable, and a belief that we can make the world a more peaceful, just and prosperous place – together.
InterAction serves as a convener, thought leader and voice of our community. Through InterAction, the NGO community's reach and impact is larger than any one organization alone. Because we want real, long-term change, we work smarter: We mobilize our members to think and act collectively, because we know more is possible that way. We also know that how we get there matters. So we set high standards. We insist on respecting human dignity. We work in partnerships.
By belonging to InterAction, members gather to shape the direction of the U.S. and international NGO community as it leverages resources, creates and develops new partnerships, determines best practices, and protects the space and environment in which we operate. As the leadership hub of U.S. private voluntary organizations and partners that work around the world, InterAction helps influence and respond to policies and events that directly impact the member organizations.
Staff of member organizations engage with one another and the broader U.S. and global community through InterAction working groups, meetings, workshops, training sessions and the annual InterAction Forum. Member staff interact with their peers, experts in the field and decision makers to share best practices, influence the national and global agenda, resolve issues relating to our work and, together, seek common solutions to the world’s most pressing problems.
