Andrea Carla Lopez
Andrea Lopez joined InterAction in November 2020 as the Program Associate for the Humanitarian Policy and Practice team. She is a strong believer in the possibilities that can be accomplished from NGO collaboration and a passion for helping others.
In her role, Andrea supports the Shelter and Settlements workstream of the Practice team, which provides a platform to support and improve the collaboration, capacity, practices, and policies of Members and other stakeholders. She also assists the Policy team with their Risk Management in Humanitarian Settings work, which strives to advance a common understanding of an integrated approach to anticipating, identifying, prioritizing, managing, and monitoring risk arising in humanitarian delivery.
Prior to joining InterAction, Andrea was a Child Protection Fellow for Save the Children where she supported the development of USAID proposals focusing on youth-at-risk and gender-based violence. She is also a recent M.A. graduate of George Washington University where she received a degree in International Affairs, concentrating on international law and organizations. Andrea also holds two B.A.s in Public Relations and Political Science from the University of Florida.
