Aniqa Borachi joined InterAction as the Senior Administrative Associate on the Humanitarian Policy and Practice team in May of 2019. She works with the leadership of the humanitarian team to assist in team management, implementation of its strategic objectives, and support Member coordination. Aniqa is dedicated to working with her team and Members on advocacy issues and providing vital support to the humanitarian sector.
Prior to joining InterAction, Aniqa worked at the National Democratic Institute as a Project Assistant on the Central and West Africa team, based in D.C. She was instrumental in coordinating NDI’s International Election Observation Mission in Nigeria and assisting on program implementation in Liberia and other regional countries. Aniqa also worked as a mission assistant at The Carter Center, based in Atlanta. During her time there, she worked on the International Election Observation Mission in Liberia and Sierra Leone. She had the opportunity to travel to Liberia for the elections and gain firsthand field experience while observing a historic moment in Liberia’s history.
Aniqa is from Tarpon Springs, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Anthropology. She recently moved to D.C. and spends much of her free time exploring D.C.’s many museums and finding new restaurants to try.
