Ashley Augsbuger joined InterAction in September 2019 as the Senior Manager on the From Pledge to Action program on preventing sexual abuse, exploitation, and harassment.
In this role, Ashley works with InterAction Members and the larger sector to develop and promote a culture of prevention, response, and support through shared learning and development of standards, policies, and procedures. Ashley’s background includes humanitarian response and protection programming in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Before joining InterAction, she was Senior Manager for the International Rescue Committee’s Women Protection and Empowerment and Child Protection programming in Rakhine State, Myanmar. Prior to that, she worked with Mercy Corps and UN.. Women in Iraq and Egypt, where she managed humanitarian and gender equality and women’s empowerment portfolios including programming, policy, and advocacy initiatives.
Ashley is from South Carolina and has a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Davidson College and a Master's in International Development and Economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. In her spare time, she volunteers as a Domestic Violence Liaison with the Metropolitan Police Department and teaches cycling class at VIDA gym.
