Ashley Augsburger joined InterAction's Humanitarian Policy team as Program Manager in January 2020, after consulting as the Senior Manager on the From Pledge to Action Program on preventing sexual abuse, exploitation, and harassment from September 2019 to January 2020.
In this role, she serves as the NGO voice in policy discussions and the development of humanitarian guidance. She also leads work related to the Grand Bargain on Humanitarian Financing, as well as the partnership with United Nations agencies.
Before joining InterAction, she was Senior Manager for the International Rescue Committee’s Women Protection and Empowerment and Child Protection programming in Rakhine State, Myanmar. Prior to that, she worked with Mercy Corps and U.N. Women in Iraq and Egypt, where she managed humanitarian and gender equality and women’s empowerment portfolios including programming, policy, and advocacy initiatives.
Ashley is from South Carolina and has a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Davidson College and a Master's in International Development and Economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. In her spare time, she volunteers as a Domestic Violence Liaison with the Metropolitan Police Department and teaches cycling class at VIDA gym.
