Briar works with InterAction's Shelter team on research related to localization efforts

She is a fourth-year Ph.D. student studying Civil Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. Briar earned her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Her graduate research is focused on understanding the risk and housing safety perceptions of individuals involved with Puerto Rico's informal construction sector and then comparing these perceptions with structural engineering performance assessments of safety in hurricanes and earthquakes.
