Jamie Fico

Program Associate, Practice

Jamie joined the Humanitarian Practice team as a research program associate in July 2024, supporting the broader HPP team’s work by contributing to empirical evidence for InterAction's advocacy.

Jamie has extensive experience studying environmental change and development policy in Morocco. Through a Fulbright award, she examined the inclusion of women and smallholder farmers in agriculture programs in the country while working closely with rural women’s cooperatives. Her work has been published by the Heinrich Böll Foundation and on Jadaliyya. Prior to this, Jamie was a Peace Corps Volunteer and supported U.S. government food security projects with Catholic Relief Services. She is passionate about integrating local knowledge into policy and practice.

Jamie has a B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies and Global Studies from the University of Virginia and an M.A. in Geography from Syracuse University. She speaks Arabic and Tamazight (Berber), and enjoys running, cooking, and urban agriculture.
