Maya Romero

Maya joined InterAction as the Executive Assistant to the President & CEO in March 2024.

In this role, Maya ensures the smooth operations of the Executive Office by providing professional support to operations, Board engagement and governance processes, and support for special projects. She also supports the CEO by managing engagement with high-level external partners, CEOs of Member organizations, and InterAction’s Board of Directors.

Prior to joining InterAction, Maya served as the Membership Coordinator at the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) where she executed membership acquisition and retention campaigns, cultivated relationships with leaders of affiliate associations, and communicated NAPABA’s value to a diverse audience of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) legal professionals.

Maya grew up in a Foreign Service family and spent her formative years living in Frankfurt, Germany, and Bangkok, Thailand. She is passionate about international development initiatives, supporting underserved communities, and cross-cultural relationship building.

Maya holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a minor in Spanish-English Translation from James Madison University. She loves traveling, trying new foods, and is currently learning how to speak Nepali.
