Finance and Administration is a key department within the Office of the President that is responsible for developing and executing InterAction’s Finance’ strategy, including financial planning and management as well as overseeing the financial execution of the company’s budget and actual expenses, supporting Officers, Board Members and Board Committees by making metric-based recommendations and providing reports on financial and compliance matters.Finance’s mission is to deliver professional, courteous, accurate, dependable and responsive financial services and information in a customer oriented and efficient manner. Our goal is to facilitate informed decision making across all departments sustaining InterAction’s financial strength and viability for current and future operations.The Finance department is led by the Chief Financial Officer, Peter Hendy. Peter is responsible for the day to day planning, implementation, management and controlling of all administrative, human resources, technology and finance and accounting related activities. The areas that he manages, are committed to conforming to the highest level of ethical standards, providing timely, accurate, clear and complete information and services creating added-value processes and reporting.Peter is a seasoned professional with vast and diverse experience in finance, accounting, administrative and technology solutions. Peter brings a unique combination of financial and technical skills which gives him the ability to understand how to drive business results through the use of strong business tools.He has been involved in multiple systems implementations linking accounting, finance and systems to drive forward operational excellence. Peter brings hands-on experience in diverse corporate environments where he led several enterprise resource management selection processes and implementations, automating many transactions and creating operational efficiencies.Prior to joining InterAction, Peter held various positions of increasing responsibilities in the areas of Finance and IT Consulting. Most recently he served as Senior Vice-President, Finance at NeighborWorks America of where he played a key role in clearing up annual audit issues and responding to the auditors’ management letter. Prior to that, Peter provided strategic and operational consulting services to several organizations, directing all financial and accounting matters through leadership and strategic planning. Before that, Peter was part of Alleon Technology Inc., a NY based organization, where he provided transformative leadership to re-engineer and realign finance and technology infrastructure, operating models and organizational structure. Early in his career, Peter was the CFO and Corporate Controller for The Maxima Corporation, where he directed the strategic and operational aspects of corporate accounting, finance and technology functions.Peter has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Management Accountants and the American Purchasing Managers Association, and holds a Project Management Professional Certification.
